Izle_Title.jpg

“Izle is a 3D procedural action-adventure RPG where you go on a quest to rebuild the last world of light using terraforming powers. With the help of the gods you will create procedurally generated islands, each one unique and filled with secrets. It is a game about the freedom of creation and the choices we must take to protect our world from destruction.”

Features

  • All procedural environment, with islands created from our Voxel Tech, procedural quests, storyline and fully destructible terrain

  • More than 100 abilities slotted on items and visible on characters, all usable by AIs, each with their level progression

  • Crafting system inspired by Minecraft using resources found in the world

  • Interchangeable set of skills by swapping equipment to create your own builds

  • Storyline with voice acting, mini playable cinematics

  • Multiplayer engine

  • Customizable characters and animation system with retargeting

  • Design your world and watch it being built by the gods in real-time

At its core Izle is a game about freedom and choices. One major gameplay element of the game is the Shard of Light, that can be used both to craft powerful equipment or to protect Izle from the Shadows. It is a choice between yourself and your world.

 Scope and Difficulties

The scope might seem very large for our small team (there were 3 of us), and it was! But the end goal was to deliver an amazing demo to grow and ramp up the team. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to secure enough investment to continue development in conditions that would allow us to make that bold and ambitious product we had in mind.

Paris Game Week & Game Connection 2014

The first and only big trade show for Izle, 5 awards, lots of fun, 500 emails of players and LOTS of play test.

Paris Game Week is a trade show open to the public, and in parallel Game Connection is a business event only open to professionals. Doing both at the same time is quite tiring, but it was a big moral boost. I did a lot of interviews with major medias for Izle and met a few business contact. Also met a lot of other indie developers and old friends. Good times :)
